Happy birthday to me! If you didn’t know, now you know: today I’m celebrating my 25th Birthday! It is such an exciting time in my life that honestly, celebrating 25 years of life seems pretty “meh” on the excitement scale. Dustin and I moved into our new house in Minneapolis over the weekend, and of course I’m in the full swing of wedding planning!
Nonetheless, a birthday isn’t a birthday without a celebration! We’re going to be doing a fun sushi dinner, followed by a trip to San Diego over labor day weekend to celebrate.
Plus, I got a little birthday love from my friends over at Tobi, who sent along two amazing options for a birthday look: one a little sweet, and one a little sexy. I’m packing both for my trip to California, but I thought I’d share a little preview with you today!
Starting with the sweet side of things, I am so in love with this pretty floral teal dress. I love the easygoing shift shape with the print. It is so easy to throw on. I wore it with flat sandals for a chill vibe, but you could totally wear it with heels for a night out, which is what I’m packing this weekend for California.
Even though I’m calling it a sweet option, I love the back detail that offers a little something special. Plus, it does show some skin in the shoulder area. It seems to be the summer of the shoulder, so I love that this is showing that off in a different way.
I paired this dress with my favorite Henri Bendel clutch of the summer, I really like how the white and brown plays nice with everything I wear it with. It’s on super sale right now, so if you like it, pick it up before it’s gone!
On the sexy side, we have this long slinky black dress. I love the length and the sexy little cut outs around the waistline. I paired it with a leather jacket for cool California evenings and a little extra coverage (since I don’t usually like to go super sexy).
I paired this dress with these funky Tobi glasses that have such an interesting shape. I love mixing up my sunglasses, since it’s such an easy way to try new things (with minimal investment!). I loved them with my gold heeled sandals, of course, since I’m obsessed with gold at the moment.
Let me know in the comments if you generally go sweet or sexy with your birthday looks and which one is your fave!
