A few weeks ago, Dustin and I took a quick trip to Chicago over Easter weekend. Little did I know that this quick weekend trip to the city where we met would change my life forever, since Dustin asked me to marry him while we were there! That’s right, we’re engaged! More to come on the engagement story and our wedding planning so far. (Keep an eye our for Monday’s post.)
Needless to say, Chicago became even more special for us that weekend. But, of course, in all the excitement, I didn’t take very many pictures and only managed to photograph this outfit. This is what I wore on Friday, when we flew into the city.

ASOS Bell Sleeve Top | J Crew Mini Skirt (old, here’s a similar shape and here’s a fun print) | Tieks | Kurt Geiger Bag
I got the chance to break out my favorite new bell sleeve top from Asos and this old J Crew miniskirt. The Kurt Geiger bag is a London find, and I just love the deep green color of it. Comfy flats were a must while we wandered all around Chicago, so my trusty Tieks worked great.
It was the perfect outfit to transition from the airplane to a lovely lunch at Summer House, and then to a nice wander about the city. That night, we returned to the bar where we first met a year and a half ago, and had a drink and played some arcade games. It was a really great day of remembering how our relationship started and reflecting on how far we’ve come together.
Some of our favorite activities in Chicago were walking around by the lake and eating endless amazing meals. I’ve never thought of Chicago as much of a foodie paradise, but we didn’t have a bad meal this entire trip! Stay tuned for more posts from Chicago coming soon, as well as more details on our engagement and wedding planning!
